Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
Greenway Pass Socy ("the app") helps you find and track greenways in the Charlotte metro area. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it short and plain.
What we collect
- Account info: the email address and display name you provide when you sign up.
- Your activity: the visits you log (which greenway, date, distance, optional rating and notes) and any trophies you earn.
- Photos (optional): photos you choose to attach to a visit.
- Apple Health / workout routes (optional): if you choose to import a walk, the app reads that workout and its route from Apple Health, with your permission, only when you ask it to. You can decline, and the app still works.
- Location: used on your device to show your position on the map. Your live location is not stored on our servers.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, save your visits, and show your activity and the community feed.
- To highlight the trails you have covered on your map.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
Where it is stored
Your account and activity are stored securely with our hosting provider (Supabase) over encrypted connections. Photos you add are stored in the app's secure storage.
What other people see
The community feed shows visits along with the display name of the person who logged them. Choose a display name you are comfortable sharing. Your email address is never shown to other users.
Your choices
- You can decline Health and Photos access and still use the core app.
- You can delete a visit at any time, which also removes its photos.
- To delete your account and associated data, email us at the address below and we will remove it.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we update this policy, we will change the date above and post the new version here.
